Guillermo Vázquez Consuegra’s Lectio Magistralis at the University of Padua

On October 16, 2025, architect Guillermo Vázquez Consuegra delivered the Lectio Magistralis, which opened the 2025–2026 academic year at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture (ICEA) of the University of Padua. The lecture, held in the ICEA’s Aula Magna, brought together professors, students, and professionals from the Italian academic and architectural fields. During his presentation, Vázquez Consuegra shared his vision of architecture as a discipline committed to the city, memory, and landscape, showcasing some of his most recent projects and reflecting on the architect’s role in the transformation of contemporary space. The Lectio Magistralis is part of the cycle of academic activities that the University of Padua dedicates each year to international figures in architecture and urban planning, and constitutes a recognition of the Sevillian architect’s career and influence on the current European scene. 23rd International Heritage Conference in Logroño: Palimpsest and Contemporary Architecture

From November 20 to 23, 2025, Logroño will host the 23rd International Conference on Intervention in Historical and Artistic Heritage, organized by the COAR (Official Association of Architects of La Rioja) and the Architects of La Rioja Cultural Foundation under the theme “Palimpsest: Present Memories.” The conference brings together architects and specialists to discuss how to intervene in historical heritage without erasing its memory, combining conservation and creativity. Speakers will include Emilio Tuñón, José Miguel León, Estudio Álvarez-Sala and Ruiz-Larrea & Asociados, and Pablo Millán. For Vázquez Consuegra, this conference is an opportunity to reflect on the relationship between contemporary architecture and historical legacy, a central theme in his work.
